Mark your calendars - Lincoln Wine Fest
Lincoln Wine Fest is coming April 27!
Don't like to drink but still want to hang with your compadres? A Designated Driver ticket is available for $15 and includes bottled water and small bites of food at the retail locations!
Darrell's guest was from Fidelity National Title and is interested in potential joining our Rotary family. She also recently joined the Chamber, and gave a short presentation on herself and what she does.
Melanie Bergavin received her Paul Harris Award (PH+4). She noted our Club is behind on contributions to the Rotary Foundation.
Last week's speaker - Larry Whitaker
Larry Whitaker, assisted by his wife Nancy, made a presentation on International Service. Larry shared about his project to help vaccinate children in Vladivostok, Russia while he was with Rotary Club of Cameron Park. Our Rotary Club will be visited by a group (~6 people) from Belarus in December, sponsored as part of a project funded by the US Government. Stay tuned for more details!
You all know Signe - our fabulous Youth Exchange student! It is her time to tell us about her home and her year here with us in Lincoln Ca. Please come and give Signe your support!
Growing up in “Pullman,” a neighborhood on the south side of Chicago (where the historic Pullman railroad cars were built) implanted early in me the importance of “Community.” It felt like a city within the city, where people depended on one another. Arriving in Lincoln in 2004, I was eager for that sense of community again, and soon was attracted to Lincoln Rotary with its impressive 80 year history of projects and accomplishments that have made a real difference in Lincoln.
Not quite sure what my Rotary legacy will be, but it’s likely I’ll best be remembered for those charges by members of “elder abuse,” when I led our projects for the Lincoln Soap Box Derby (with 100 pound hay bales!), and the book re-shelving at Twelve Bridges Library that lasted a week over a Christmas holiday. I think I still owe that fine!
