Mission: We support and empower foster children, at-risk youth, and families in crisis by connecting them with compassionate volunteer advocates who provide hope, guidance, and a pathway to stability and lasting permanency.
President Kerry welcomed 36 members to the meeting , as well as 5 guests. Guests included Guest Speaker Ryan Ronco, Lisa Cramer (Ryan Ronco), Gerard De Miguel, Pam Berry(Judy Ratley), Mary Gilillard (Jamie Wedell). The flag salute was led by Jamie and the Four Way Test was led by Paul Radcliffe.
RI Foundation Chair Art, presented Kerry with her Paul Harris +2 Pin. The Rotary Foundation helps Rotary members to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace by improving health, providing quality education, improving the environment, and alleviating poverty. Congratulations were expressed with a standing ovation.
Membership Chair Bryan reported that members are currently at 68 with 7 new members that offset 4 lost members. Richard Pearl's group is prominent for bringing in 4 new members thus far. Lindsey said the volunteer list for the Winefest is available online. Volunteers receive a free ticket. She also encouraged members to let her know your interests for 2026-27. Clark shared the recent promotion of his son in the sports department at Sacramento State.
Ryan gave a comprehensive and entertaining description of his role as Placer County’s Clerk-Recorder-Registrar of Voters. He was appointed to this position by the Placer County Board of Supervisors in 2016, was elected to the post in 2018 and re-elected in 2022. The office has an annual budget of $15 million and employs a staff of 53. In his career with the Clerk-Recorder’s office, he has successfully administered over 100 federal state and local elections for the voters of Placer County. He also serves on the boards of many local nonprofits, and has extensive private sector experience in restaurant management, and as a writer/researcher for a local taxpayer organization. He covered the election process and demands and said that Placer County is the 18th largest county in the state and has 96% of those eligible to vote registered. In 2024, 83.4 % voted, 25% of those voted in person the highest number in the state. He invited members to tour his office, including on a walk-in basis.
