We are having Blind Wine Auction from 5-7pm on May 2 with all winning wine bids going towards Rotary Foundation! 25% of the bottles auctioned off will be valued at 50 per bottle (nice yummy wine!)! Other bottles will be medium priced and always great to drink with friends! And maybe someone will end up with Two Buck Chuck! No matter what the wine, Dave Bonillo, our auctioneer, will promise us a good laugh or two for a good cause with all donations going to Rotary Foundation. Come to socialize with your fellow Rotarians, make a donation, have a glass of wine (or a non-alcoholic beverage) and a couple hours of fun. Maybe you'll take home a really nice bottle of wine for your donation, too!! 5-7pm, Thursday, May 2 Please RSVP. Keith & Melanie Bergevin's house, 573 Rustic Ranch Ln, Lincoln ps: Please consider Rotary Foundation in your giving on May 2. Remember this year, the club is matching every gift of $100 up to 200 points to work towards your Paul Harris. |

Sponsored by the Art League of Lincoln, who says: In 1875 Gladding McBean opened it’s clay pipe factory, changing the Lincoln area from a ranching community to a booming manufacturing town. Be one of our artists or vendors at this celebration of our history as we partner with Gladding McBean and the Lincoln Rotary Club’s Kid’s Camp Clay - for kids of all ages.

Urgent Care Centers versus Emergency Rooms - What's Best for You and When?
Sep 05, 2019 12:00 PM
Dr. Ellis recently opened the Lincoln Urgent Care Center in the Safeway Shopping Center on Lincoln Blvd. He recently moved to Lincoln from Chico and established the new business in Lincoln. https://www.lincolnurgentcare.com/ Member Jan Hutchinson reported: "Dr. Ellis will not be ‘selling' the Lincoln Urgent Care Center, but will speak to the history of Urgent Care Centers and what they can do vs. Emergency Rooms; and how we can make the decision which facility to use relative to our symptoms which require immediate treatment. I attended his presentation at the Community Forum in the SCLH Presentation Hall recently, where the Forum Chair stated that Forum members voted unanimously that our entire community would benefit from this valuable community service as well as his presentation." |

DG Visit and Update on What is Happening in District 5180
Sep 12, 2019 12:00 PM
This is our annual meeting with the District 5180 District Governor. Ray Ward is the son of a U.S. Marine. He attended nine schools by his sophomore year in high school. When his father retired from the U.S.M.C., they settled in Penryn where Ray graduated from Del Oro High School. He says that a military family is a great environment to grow up in since all that moving forces you to make friends quickly. Ray earned his B.S. degree in Business from National University. Ray currently owns an insurance agency specializing in health insurance and other employee benefits. Ray joined Rotary in 2007 and served as President of the Rotary Club of Rocklin/Loomis Basin during the 2010-11 Rotary year. Since that time, he has been active at the district level serving on many committees (up to seven at a time) including Chair of the Website Committee, Membership Committee and Co-Chair of the 2016 District Conference. In 2016, he also became an Assistant Governor for Area 8. Ray has been married to his wife, Gena for over 20 years and they have a wonderful daughter, Alyssa who is currently a college student. Some of Ray’s greatest joys have been seeing the positive impact on Alyssa through interacting with Rotarians. Ray enjoys listening to music and is a huge Parrothead (fan of Jimmy Buffett). He has seen Jimmy Buffett in concert so many times he can’t remember how many, but he can recall seeing him perform in at least 12 different locations, including Madison Square Garden and the Hollywood Bowl. |
